Alderson Broaddus celebrates new university status
PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Alderson Broaddus is celebrating its new status as a university.
The private school's Board of Trustees voted in April to change its name from Alderson Broaddus College to Alderson Broaddus University. The change went into effect July 1.
The Inter-Mountain reports that the school unveiled a redesigned mascot and entrance sign this week.
Other changes on the Philippi campus include four new residential living quarters, a new football stadium and a new fight song.
