WVU Hospitals seeks hearing on Mon General plan
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- WVU Hospitals is seeking a public hearing on Mon General Hospital's plan to provide radiation therapy to cancer patients.
Mon General has applied for a certificate of need from the West Virginia Health Care Authority to buy a linear accelerator, which is used to provide radiation therapy treatments.
WVU Hospitals said Tuesday it has asked the authority to hold a public hearing on the application.
WVU Hospitals President and CEO Bruce McClymonds said in a news release that there already are five linear accelerators in north-central West Virginia.
