Town of Pratt to take back mayor's police cruiser
PRATT, W.Va. -- Pratt Town Council members agreed to take back a police cruiser driven by Mayor Gary Fields in light of a criminal investigation against him.
State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous confirmed Monday that Fields was pulled over by state troopers on Paint Creek Road on Aug. 29. Baylous would not say why Fields was stopped but said the traffic stop has led to a criminal investigation.
On Tuesday night, Town Council members voted to take back a police cruiser Fields drove until they learn more about the investigation, Councilwoman Charlotte Calhoun said. Fields drove the police cruiser to help the Police Department, she said.
