Barboursville library book sale
The Barboursville Library will have its annual "Fall Used Book Sale" 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and continuing from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the library. For information, call 304-736-4621.
The Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission and Convention and Visitors Bureau will have a car show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Valley (Wave Pool) Park. Bells across America
The Kanawha Valley Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution encourages churches, schools, governments, veteran groups and individuals to join groups across America in ringing bells at 4 p.m. on Tuesday<co Sept. 17> to commemorate the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America in Philadelphia on Sept. 17, 1787. Ringing of bells at 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in all time zones is encouraged; however, those who wish to ring the bells at a different time are encouraged to do so in order to participate.
The University of Charleston will offer a new series of Ballroom and Latin dance lessons for beginning and intermediate dance students Sept. 17 in the Geary Student Union Ballroom, located on the third floor of the Geary Student Union at UC. Beginner 1 lessons will take place from 7 to 7:45 p.m. and Beginner 2 classes will take place from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m. No prior experience is required to take the Beginner 1 lessons, however, prior experience is recommended for the Beginner 2 lessons. Community members pay $10 per lesson, or $8 per lesson if a package of lessons is purchased. Lessons are free for University of Charleston students, staff and faculty.
