CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County Extension Master Gardeners will host a day of service from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association Animal Shelter, 1248 Greenbrier St., in response to Gov. Tomblin's call for service during the "Governor's Day to Serve" campaign in September.
Projects during the day will include landscaping, mural painting, removing weeds and more. Volunteer groups, including scouting groups, 4-H clubs and other youth groups are invited to work alongside the Master Gardeners.
Volunteers may also bring with them items to donate to the shelter.
