CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Dunbar man is in jail after he allegedly made threats against Delegate Doug Skaff, D-Kanawha, and one of Skaff's relatives.
Sgt. Tony Hazelett said John Curtis Dawson, 64, of Dunbar, allegedly called the doctor's office of Leeann Skaff about 9 a.m. Friday and began complaining about and threatening Delegate Skaff.
Hazelett said Dawson allegedly called back a short time later and said he had a .22 caliber pistol and ties to the mafia. Dawson allegedly said he would come to Leeann Skaff's doctor's office and "do what he had to do," Hazelett said.
"Her office was on lockdown," Doug Skaff said. "They were scared to death."
Dawson is being charged with threats of terroristic acts. Hazelett said Dunbar police arrested Dawson late Sunday.Dawson was in the South Central Regional Jail on Monday with bail set at $10,000.
