Winfield's current city hall, located on Main Street, was originally a sewer treatment plant constructed in the 1940s. Structural concerns and a lack of space have prompted the city to consider purchasing a new building.

According to Mayor Randy Barrett, an existing building on W.Va. 817 could serve as Winfield's next city hall if the city council approves its purchase. The building, which formerly house PJ's Daycare, would cost the city around $800,000.
