Rob Zombie and Korn are coming to Huntington

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Halloween is getting a bit of an extension in Huntington. Horror rock and alternative metal superstars Rob Zombie and Korn are coming to the Big Sandy Superstore Arena Nov. 23.

Zombie, an occasional actor and cult film director, has charted numerous songs on the alternative rock and mainstream rock charts but is best-known for hits like "Living Dead Girl," "Dragula" and "American Witch."

His latest record, "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor," was released in April and features a cover of Grand Funk Railroad's "We're an American Band."

Formed in 1993, the Grammy Award-winning band Korn was one of the first groups to be called nu metal. The band, best known for hits like "Freak on a leash," "Falling Away From Me" and "Twisted Transister," counts both hard rock and metal artists and hip-hop performers as inspirations for their sound.

Korn's 11th studio record, "The Paradigm Shift," is scheduled for release in October and features the return of Brian "Head" Welch. Welch left the band in 2005 after converting to Christianity and then giving up drugs and alcohol. Since then, he's been a frequent presence at various Christian music events, including "Invasion 2010" held in Bluefield.

Tickets for the show are on sale now and are $45 for general admission. For more information, call 800-745-3000 or visit www.ticketmaster.com. Reach Bill Lynch at lynch@wvgazette.com or 304-348-5195.
