WVSU/Kanawha library offer tree care workshops

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State University Extension Service is teaming up with the Kanawha County Public Library for free workshops on tree care and maintenance at various library branches throughout October.

Participants will learn techniques such as mulching, fertilizing and pruning to ensure trees are healthy and aesthetically pleasing in the landscape.

The workshops are part of the libraries' monthly education classes.

The schedule is:

Oct. 2: Main Library, noon to 1 p.m.

Oct. 8: Riverside Public Library, noon to 2 p.m.

Oct. 10: Clendenin Branch Library, 6 to 8 p.m.

Oct. 11: Cross Lanes Branch Library, 11 a.m. to noon
