Fairmont man shot by police charged with endangerment
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- A man shot and critically wounded by Bridgeport police after an apparent domestic dispute at an Interstate 79 rest stop in July has been arrested.
Fairmont resident Justin Echols, 23, is charged with two counts of wanton endangerment.
News outlets said Harrison County Magistrate Tammy Marple set bail at $30,000 Thursday.
Police say Echols had a loaded pistol in his hand when they responded to the rest stop call and refused repeated commands to drop it.
They say they fired when he raised the gun in their direction.
