Two injured in morning car accident in Kanawha City

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two people were taken to the hospital following an accident this morning in Kanawha City.

Josh Paxton, 23, of South Charleston, was driving on MacCorkle Avenue a little before 7 a.m. when he apparently lost control of his car and veered into a metal traffic light pole at 19th Street, according to Lt. Charles Sisson of the Charleston Police Department.

Paxton and a 7-year-old boy who was riding in the car were both injured in the crash. Paxton was treated at CAMC General Hospital and later released. The extent of the boy's injuries was not immediately clear.
