State man sought for 6 shootings arrested in NYC
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- A suspect in the shooting of six at a Huntington housing complex has been arrested in New York City.
The Herald-Dispatch reports that 31-year-old Antonio Michael Smith was arrested Thursday in Brooklyn by the FBI. Back in West Virginia, Smith faces six counts of malicious wounding and one count of wanton endangerment. All are felonies.
Huntington police say the shootings occurred last week during an altercation among a group of people at the Northcott Court complex.
All six victims were shot in the lower extremities. None of the injuries were life-threatening. Smith was arrested on federal indictments. He is accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm and distribution of heroin.
