International sorority meeting

Preceptor Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority: will meet at 7 p.m. Monday for a business meeting at Canaan United Methodist Church, 401 Roane St. President Charlotte Bowling will conduct the business meeting and will be hostess for the program. Service will be tabs for Ronald McDonald House, containers for Manna Meal and magazines for the Veterans Association.

Retired school employees

Kanawha County Association of Retired School Employees will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kanawha Boulevard. Jolly Travelers will give a presentation of Fun Day Trips. A catered meal will be available and includes lasagna, salad and dessert for $15 per person. Call Irma at 304-744-1976 for reservations.

Sissonville PSD

The Sissonville Public Service District will hold its regular Board meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the district's office, 6438 Sissonville Drive.

Pumpkin drop

Andrew Jackson Middle School will sponsor a Pumpkin Drop from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the school. There will also be pumpkin paintings, hayrides, games, campfires, free hot dogs, music, money sand pit, community and educational booths and an Appalachian Ghost Walk.

Charleston WV Christian Women

Charleston WV Christian Women will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday for lunch at the Charleston Women's Club, 1600 Virginia St. E. The cost is $16 inclusive. Doors open at 10 a.m. A silent/live basket, bake sale and craft auction will be held and the theme is "The Great Pumpkin Patch Festival." Sandra Cole, former local news anchor, will host the auction. Martha Goodrich of Chester, Va., will speak, and Don Jones of Scott Depot and Dale Cross of St. Albans will provide music. There will be door prizes. Reservation deadline is  Oct. 7.
