Murder suspect Kelsey Legg turns herself in
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A woman wanted for the slaying of a Charleston man has turned herself in to police, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, which tweeted a picture of the 20-year-old being arraigned Saturday night.
Kelsey Legg is charged with felony murder and kidnapping and was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Legg is charged in the death of Kareem Howell Hunter, 28.
She told her brother, Mathew, that she lured Hunter to her apartment so a man could put a bag over Hunter's head and kidnap him on Sept. 23, according to a complaint filed in magistrate court.
Matthew Legg told police he saw two men remove a body from his sister's apartment and place it in trunk of a car, the complaint states.
Police had looked for Hunter for about a week before Matthew Legg told them what he allegedly saw at Kelsey Legg's apartment.
Police discovered large bloodstains throughout the apartment, according to the complaint. Neighbors told police that Kelsey Legg apparently cleaned the apartment, painted walls and replaced carpet after the Sept. 23 disturbance, the complaint states.
