Live at the Alban

MacDowell County bluegrass singer/songwriter Stacy Grubb, a third-generation member of the Wheeling Jamboree, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Alban Arts Center, 65 Olde Main St., St. Albans. The show is part of the Live at the Alban concert series, which showcases West Virginia musicians.

Bob Evans Festival

The annual Bob Evans Farm Festival runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the Bob Evans Farm, in Rio Grande, Ohio. It includes contests, crafts, children's activities and live music. 'Shenandoah'

Arts Resources for the Tri-State will stage the Civil War musical "Shenandoah," based on the 1965 film, the next two weekends at the ARTS Theater (old Huntington High School), 900 8th St., Huntington. Performances are 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Oct. 18-19 and 3 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 20.

Blennerhassett by candlelight

The annual Blennerhasset Mansion by Candlelight tour takes place Friday and Saturday, departing every half hour between 6 and 8 p.m. from Belpre, Ohio's Civitan Park. Tour the mansion and its grounds, see costumed re-enactors and dancers, listen to period music, hear ghost stories, take a horse-drawn wagon ride and sample homemade apple butter.

Gay Men's Chorale concert

The Charleston Gay Men's Chorale will perform Voices for Equality, a concert with a theme of equal rights for all, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1423 Lee St. E. Selections include "Prayer of the Children," "You Are the New Day," "Imagine" and "Not My Father's Son."

FOOTMAD concert

FOOTMAD opens its 2013-14 season with a concert by Irish fiddler Liz Carroll and guitar accompanist Daithi Sproule at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Culture Center Theater. Carroll is a National Heritage Fellowship Award winner, the first American-born musician to receive Ireland's most significant traditional music prize and the first Irish-American musician nominated for a Grammy.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for students and free for children under 13. Tickets for the seven-concert season are $70 for adults and $35 for students.

'Santa Claus' auditions

The Alban Arts Center will hold auditions for "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" at 1 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the theater, 65 Olde Main St., St. Albans. Roles are available for males and females ages 6 to adult. Bring a prepared monologue or read from the script.

The holiday production, adapted by from L. Frank Baum's book, follows the adventures of a young Claus, learning of his gift for toy making and battling the wicked Awgwas before he became Santa Claus. Performance dates are Dec. 13-15 and 20-22.
