BEVERLY, W.Va. -- The public is being invited to watch an archaeological dig in Beverly.
The dig began Sunday and continues Monday behind the Collett House.
The Beverly Heritage Center says archaeologists hope to find artifacts relating to life in Beverly. They also hope to find indications of the Collett House's different uses, which include a tavern, an inn, a family residence and a female seminary.
The log structure was built in the late 1700s. There have been multiple additions since then.
