The Putnam Farmers Market will hold a craft show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Hurricane City Park, the first shelters as you enter the park. Fire department fundraiser
Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department will partner with Wendy's for a fundraiser on Saturday. Cross Lanes residents are urged to dine at the Wendy's of Cross Lanes and a portion of the profits will be donated to the fire department to purchase fire-fighting equipment. Members from the fire station will participate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Several rescue demonstrations, featuring the Jaws of Life, will be held throughout the day.
Kanawha Creation Science Group is sponsoring the 10th annual WV Creation Conference from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at Mount Olivet Baptist Church located at 6532 MacCorkle Ave. S.E., across from Kmart in Kanawha City. Speakeasy Singles will meet for a jet boat ride Oct. 20 at Hawk's Nest Lodge. Tickets are $25 and include a Tram Ride. Get tickets in advance at noon for the 2 p.m. boat ride and then have lunch. Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday at the Wine Cellar Park in Dunbar. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Re-group at the park's parking area.
