CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Science, Technology and Research (STaR) Symposium next week in Morgantown will feature New York Times columnist and science author David Pogue as its keynote speaker.
The fifth annual event's theme will be "The Evolution of Energy: From Scarcity to Abundance," and will focus on issues surrounding energy development in West Virginia.
"We'll look at the issues surrounding energy development and use from all sides to highlight the challenges and opportunities in West Virginia," Jan Taylor, director of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission's Division of Science and Research, said in a news release.
Advanced online registration for the event, which is Tuesday and Wednesday at the Waterfront Place Hotel, has closed, but walk-in registration will be offered onsite from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and is $150 per person for the two-day symposium.
