Child sex abuse trial set for state man
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- A Mercer County man accused of sexually abusing two minors and possessing child pornography is facing trial in December.
A grand jury indictment charged 40-year-old John Spaulding with sexual assault and abuse and 50 counts of possession of material depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct.
The indictment accuses Spaulding of committing the offenses over a six-month period last year.
Prosecutor Scott Ash says the victims were 3 and 14.
The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports Circuit Judge William Sadler set Spaulding's trial date for Dec. 10.
