Elk Valley PSD
Elk Valley Public Service District commissioners will have their October board meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday at 100 Bream Drive, Elkview.
The South Charleston Public Library will sponsor a Zombie Prom at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 312 Fourth Ave. The zombie-themed costume dance is for adults 18 and older. This is a non-alcohol event. Tickets $5. Call the library at 304-744-6561 for information.
Elk River Community and Education Center will host a Halloween party from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the center on Main Street, Elkview. A fish pond, fortuneteller, face painting, door prizes and refreshments will be featured. For information, call 304-965-3722.
The Greenbrier Historical Society will have its next 2103 Fall Lecture Series at 6 p.m. Thursday at the North House, 301 Washington St. W., Lewisburg. Jim Costa will present "Cooking on the Hearth." Costa is an avid collector and resident of Talcott. He will discuss the evolution of early-19th-century cookware by using pieces from his own collection. For information, call 304-645-3398.
