W.Va. AFL-CIO elects officers in convention wrap-up

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia AFL-CIO has elected officers.

Kenneth M. Perdue was elected president of the labor organization at its convention, which ended Thursday in Charleston. Perdue, a sheet metal worker, was elected to his third term.

Josh Sword was elected to his first term as secretary-treasurer. He was appointed to the post last January to fill the unexpired term of Larry Matheney, who retired.

Convention delegates also elected 14 vice presidents who will make up the West Virginia AFL-CIO Executive Board.
