Walk the new bridge
The St. Albans Historical Society announces that there will be a Walk-the-Bridge Night from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday to allow people to walk over the new Dick Henderson Memorial Bridge connecting Nitro and St. Albans. There will be "Trunk-or-Treat" on both sides and several area vendors and radio stations. A bridge souvenir booklet also will be available.
Food bank donations
Edgewood Country Club will be collecting nonperishable and canned food items for the Union Mission Food Bank beginning Friday. Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays through Nov. 22 in the main lobby of the club, 1600 Edgewood Drive. Those donating will be entered into a drawing for a complimentary lunch for four at Edgewood Country Club. Requested items include corn, green beans, peas, macaroni and cheese and dried pasta. Melodic Fusion, Riverside High School's show choir and band, will present an arts and crafts festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the school. Admission is $1. More than 40 vendors will participate, including jewelry, cosmetics, primitives, candles/warmers, scrapbooking, T-shirts/decals, handcrafted furniture, collectibles, accessories and more. Concessions will be available.
Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department will host its fifth annual craft show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Tyler Mountain Community Building, 5380 Big Tyler Road, Cross Lanes, adjacent to the fire department. Various artists from throughout the area will have goods on display. Baked goods and concessions will be offered for sale. Proceeds will benefit the fire department.
Holiday crafts/art show
The Country Craft Guild will have its 33rd Annual Holiday Craft and Art Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Chuck Mathena Center, 2 Stafford Commons, Princeton. The Charleston Coin Club will have its annual coin show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Charleston Civic Center. Admission is free. Dealers from Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia will buy, sell and trade coins, paper money, gold jewelry, coal mine scrip and West Virginia tokens.
