Police say Clay County man injured infant twin daughters
WALLBACK, W.Va. -- A Clay County man severely injured his infant twin daughters by grabbing them and holding them tightly against his chest, State Police said.
Richard Solomon Osborne, 29, of Wallback, was charged with child abuse causing injury, a felony, on Tuesday.
Staff at CAMC Women and Children's Hospital called Trooper B.K. Smith and Trooper B.E. Young, of the Clay County detachment, about injuries observed on 7-week-old twin girls, State Police Sgt. Michael Baylous said in a news release. The infants had several broken bones and bleeding in the brain.
Troopers later learned that Osborne, their father, had "violently grabbed the infants as they were crying and held them tightly against his chest," according to the release. Osborne is currently being held in Central Regional Jail.
