Trail club hikes
Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor two hikes. The first will be Saturday on the Glade Creek Trail. Meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Re-group at the trailhead parking area. This hike is approximately 6 miles on a trail with one semi-steep grade and is very scenic, including waterfalls. Bring a light lunch. There is an optional early dinner at Giuseppe's of Mount Hope afterward. The second hike will be held Sunday and is a Downtown Art Walk. Meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is approximately 4-5 miles on an easy and leisurely walk, visiting pier-to-pier art, downtown art and the state Capitol.
Inner listening class
Unity of Kanawha Valley: will offer an Inner Listening Class at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at its location, 804 Myrtle Road, at the corner of Myrtle and Bridge roads. The class, led by Marianne Gettman, is free. However, love offerings are accepted. All donations will be given to Unity of Kanawha Valley. The class is designed to help relieve tension and stress. It includes breathing exercises, slow stretching, balance exercises, Qi Gong Flow, and meditation. The class will be held on the first Saturday of each month. Scrip collectors' show
The National Scrip Collectors Association will have their annual fall coal-mine scrip show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Civic Center.
