Charleston Civitan Club will meet at noon Friday at the Charleston Civic Center to fill "blizzard boxes." These meals are for people who may be unable to get to their regular lunch destination because of inclement weather.
A Shop 'til You Drop Holiday Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Elks Lodge on Greenbrier Street, across from Capital High School. Featured vendors will include 31, Mechi Bags, Origami Owl, Tupperware, Celebrating Home, Scentsy, crafts, wreaths and more. Concessions will be available. Gold Dome Lions
The Charleston Gold Dome Lions Club is conducting a canned food drive at Shoney's on the Boulevard to benefit the Covenant House Food Bank. A receptacle has been provided for donations of canned food items now through Dec. 15 at Shoney's, 116 Kanawha Blvd. E. Shoney's manager, Ray Runion, says that customers who donate 10 or more cans of food will receive a 10 percent discount on their meal at Shoney's. The West Virginia University Extension Office is currently accepting new or slightly used items that can be re-gifted for a silent auction held during the holiday bazaar scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 14 at Camp Virgil Tate, 1400 Camp Virgil Tate Road.
