City convention bureau CEO named tourism professional of year
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Tourism Commission has named Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau CEO Alisa Bailey its Tourism Professional of the Year.
The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the state's tourism industry, according to a news release from the Charleston CVB.
Bailey was praised for her leadership in the development, funding and launch of the "I'm Charlie West" marketing campaign and the creation of an ambassador program for volunteers.
The CVB was also awarded Best Website for its user-friendly and brand-consistent webpage, which was launched last May.
Yeager Airport was recognized for Best Internet/e-Magazine Article. A blog post by Sage Rock praised the airport for its use of the social networking site, Facebook, during Superstorm Sandy last year.
