CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Recycling Coalition of West Virginia will have its 11th annual Re-Fashion Show event at 1 p.m. Saturday in Macy's Court at Charleston Town Center Mall. Registration begins at 11 a.m.
Contestants design original outfits out of recyclable materials such as used books, magazines, newspaper, bubble wrap, duct tape and CDs, and compete for prizes in two age categories -- 13 and younger and 14 and older.
The Re-Fashion Show is open to any West Virginia resident. Winners in both age categories will receive cash prizes of $100, $150 and $250. Gift cards will be awarded to designers in specialized categories with outfits using products in the Coca-Cola Challenge; the Newspaper Challenge, which is sponsored the Charleston Newspapers; and the Shopping Challenge, sponsored by Town Center Mall.
