Odebrecht's expected land option in Wood County is the SABIC plastics plant, which will close in the next 18 months.
West Virginia Department of Commerce Secretary Keith Burdette said the Odebrecht cracker plant project "represents the largest single industrial project in the history of the state of West Virginia if we can make all the pieces come together, and we are confident we can."
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and Odebrecht officials announced the company is exploring options for a petrochemical complex in Wood County.
