Christmas dinner canceled for lack of volunteers
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- A Clarksburg church won't be serving free turkey dinners on Christmas Day due to a lack of volunteers.
The Exponent Telegram reported it will mark the first time in 23 years that First United Methodist Church won't be serving the annual dinner to the community.
Coordinators Bill Klenk and Bill Nichols say there simply weren't enough people willing to plan and organize the event.
Longtime volunteer Jim Wilson calls it a "tough, tough decision."
