Father, son denied bond in slaying of Summers man
PRINCETON, W.Va. -- A West Virginia father and his son have been denied bond on first-degree murder charges in what investigators call the execution-style shooting of another man.
The Beckley Register-Herald reported that a Mercer County Circuit Court judge denied bond Monday for Oscar Combs Sr., 44, and Oscar Combs Jr., 21.
The Combses are charged in the April 2011 slaying of James "Bo" Butler, 55, of Summers County. His body was found weeks later in Wyoming County. The Combses were charged last week.
Investigators said the Combses met Butler in Mercer County with the intention of robbing him of a paycheck he had recently received.
State Police investigators said father and son accused each other in the fatal shooting.
