Man injured in Fayette bar shooting
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A man was injured early Saturday during a Fayette County bar shooting, police said.
The incident happened around 3:20 a.m. Saturday at Drifter's Bar in Glen Jean, according to a release from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
Emanuel Stoumile, 28, of Beckley, was shot in the leg following an altercation with another man, police said.
When bouncers tried to separate the two, the other man pulled a handgun from his pants and shot Stoumile, police said. The man then left the bar before police arrived.
Stoumile was transported to Raleigh General Hospital.
Police said the victim was not cooperative and refused to tell them who shot him. He also denied being in an altercation, police said.
Police said they believe the shooter was Kevin J. Dumas, 20, of Columbus. Dumas, who matched the description of the shooter, was arrested following a traffic stop in Beckley.
He was found to be carrying a gun and driving a stolen vehicle, according to police. Dumas, who was wanted on felonious assault charges in Ohio, was arrested and taken to Southern Regional Jail to await extradition back to Ohio. Fayette County police said they intend to file felony criminal charges against Dumas in the near future.
