Some kids will move from CHIP to Medicaid
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Some children enrolled in West Virginia's Children's Health Insurance Program will be moved to the state's Medicaid program.
The state expanded Medicaid coverage under the federal health care overhaul.
Children living in households whose income is 133 percent or less of the federal poverty line will now be eligible for Medicaid coverage.
The Children's Health Insurance Program says in a news release that these children will be moved Medicaid on their next scheduled eligibility renewal date.
Enrollees also will have the option to enroll in Medicaid prior to their renewal date. Their enrollment will be effective Jan. 1.
