Silent auction

Kanawha County Public Library will hold a Little Quilts silent auction from 1 to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 during the library's open house at 123 Capitol St. Mini quilts are on display on the first floor. The quilts were made by members of two Charleston quilting groups, Moon and Stars Quilters and Kanawha Valley Quilters Guild, and one Fairmont group, Mountain Heritage Quilters Guild. The pieces are based on the themes, plot and traditional quilt patterns featured in the murder mysteries of Earlene Fowler. These feature cowgirl sleuth Benni Harper, the curator of a folk art museum. The books in the series are all named after traditional quilt blocks and feature illustrations of quilts on the covers. Winning bidders will also receive a signed copy of one of Fowler's books. Proceeds will benefit Kanawha County Public Library.
