Fayette post office wins promise of permanent home
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Danese Post Office has won a reprieve.
Set to close this month, the Fayette County post office will remain open for another two years after a deal was reached to extend the lease on the building used by the postal center.
Media outlets reported that Rep. Nick Rahall announced the agreement Monday.
The lease on the building was to expire Tuesday.
The lease was extended with the understanding that postal officials would seek a permanent address in Danese.
Rahall vowed to seek a permanent location for the post office.
