Work release inmate charged with escape
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Nitro police arrested a West Virginia Division of Corrections inmate who did not return to the Charleston Work Release Center on Monday.
John Riblett was arrested at the Mardi Gras Casino in Nitro just before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Corrections Officer Christopher Gillespie said in a news release. He was charged with escape and is being held in Mount Olive Correctional Complex, according to the release.
Gillespie said Riblett left the center at about 8:30 a.m. Monday for a work release furlough and did not return later as required.
