CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia farmers' markets are planning open houses and food and wine tastings this holiday season.
The West Virginia Department of Agriculture says the events are designed to encourage people to buy and consume West Virginia-grown products.
The Point Park Marketplace in Parkersburg will hold its open house Saturday. More than 15 vendors will showcase products ranging from breads to candy. Customers also will be able to select a Christmas tree from a local tree farmer.
The Inwood Farmers' Market will host a wine and food tasting event on Dec. 14. Inwood Market stocks wines from all 17 West Virginia farm wineries. Guests will be able to pair those wines with a variety of West Virginia-grown products.
