Former Boone fire chief charged with embezzlement
CHARLESTON, W.Va.-- The former assistant chief from a Boone County fire department was arrested Thursday and charged with embezzlement.
Larry E. Nunnery, 45, of Madison, was charged with allegedly embezzling almost $3,000 from Boone County's fire service fee while acting as assistant chief of the Madison Fire Department, said Sgt. Michael Baylous, spokesman for the West Virginia State Police. Nunnery was arraigned Thursday and released on a $20,000 surety bond, Baylous said.
