Wesleyan choral group about to go on tour

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan College choral group Concentus Vocum will embark on a tour of West Virginia and Washington, D.C., Dec. 11-15.

The ensemble will visit and work with high school choral programs throughout the state and offer performances at host churches in the evenings.

The tour will begin at Parkersburg South High School. A choral program will be presented at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at Cook Memorial Baptist Church in Pineville.

On Dec. 12, the group will visit Greenbrier High School in Lewisburg, and a concert will be presented at 7 p.m. at Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley.

On Dec. 13, the group will visit Woodrow Wilson High School and present a concert at 7 p.m. at Perry Memorial United Methodist Church in Shady Spring.

The tour concludes Dec. 15 with a 3 p.m. concert at Vienna Baptist Church in Vienna, Va.

Concentus Vocum is one of three choral ensembles offered at West Virginia Wesleyan College. A select chamber vocal ensemble, the members of Concentus Vocum are chosen from the larger Concert Chorale. The ensemble performs works selected predominantly for smaller chamber choir settings.
