Stonewall Resort animals show
WESTON, W.Va. -- The Wild World of Animals Showcase returns to Stonewall Resort for three shows on the weekend of Dec. 20 and 21.
The shows will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 20, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 21.
Featured animals scheduled to be featured in the event include a leopard, warthog, alligator, king vulture, bear and other mammals, birds and reptiles (lineup subject to change).
According to Steve Ludwig, director of sales and marketing at Stonewall Resort, guests who buy the Wild World of Animals package at the resort for either Dec. 20 or 21 are guaranteed a seat at one of the shows.

The weekend also will feature the Madrigal Singers of Clarksburg and the Chanticleer Children's Choir performing holiday favorites. Holiday games, as well as craft and culinary demonstrations, such how to make figgy pudding, will be offered throughout the weekend. The Sunday brunch with Santa will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Old-time music at Opera House
MARLINTON, W.Va. -- Anna and Elizabeth will bring old-time music and visual storytelling to the Pocahontas County Opera House at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13.
Anna Roberts-Gevalt and Elizabeth Laprelle explore storytelling and tradition, weaving sparse arrangements of traditional Appalachian music -- ballads, fiddle tunes and harmonies -- with storytelling, shadow puppetry and scrolling illustrations called crankies.
Roberts-Gevalt and Laprelle have shared their multimedia show across the U.S. and abroad.
Opera House doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance at pocahontasoperahouse.org.

Bramwell homes tour
BRAMWELL, W.Va. -- In honor of its 125th birthday, Bramwell Theatre Corp. is holding the 30th annual Christmas Tour of Historic Homes from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 14 in the historic Mercer County town of Bramwell.
Tickets cost $15 and may be purchased at 4 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in the center of town.
Music, refreshments and a turn-of-the century atmosphere will be part of the tour.
