Beckley man stabbed two in altercation, police say
BECKLEY, W.Va. -- Police in Raleigh County said a man stabbed two people with a sword during an altercation on Sunday.
Michael Paul Hale, 27, of Beckley, was charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding, according to a news release issued by the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department. Hale allegedly stabbed and cut Hershel Drenned several times on his body at 1 a.m. Sunday inside a house along Bailey Avenue in Beckley. Hale then stabbed Tabatha Farley in the foot, according to the release.
Drenned and Farley's injuries were not life threatening and they were treated at Beckley ARH Hospital. Deputies pulled Hale over near the house where the incident occurred and he was arrested without incident, according to the release.
He is being held in Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $1 million bail.
