State GOP executive director resigns

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia Republican Party executive director William Ward Wyatt has resigned.

Wyatt tells the Charleston Daily Mail that he wants to expand on the digital side of politics.

The 26-year-old Wyatt had served as the state GOP's executive director since January.

He previously managed Kent Leonhardt's campaign for state agriculture commissioner and served as an aide to two Texas legislators.

State Republican Party chairman Conrad Lucas says he's not sure when a new executive director will be named.
