Fayette County man arrested in identity theft, forgery
OAK HILL, W.Va. -- A Fayette County man allegedly used checks and credit cards stolen from an elderly woman this week, police said.
Thomas Wayne Shepherd III, 22, of Oak Hill, was charged with forgery, uttering, computer fraud and identity theft, according to a news release issued by Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler. Shepherd was arrested on Wednesday.
According to the release, Shepherd used the woman's credit card and forged several checks in her name. He was being held Thursday in Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
