Donor for WVU soccer stadium dies

WHEELING, W.Va. -- Services are scheduled Monday in Wheeling for Sylvan James "Dick" Dlesk, whose donation enabled West Virginia University to build a new soccer stadium.

Kepner Funeral Homes in Wheeling says Dlesk died Wednesday at Wheeling Hospital. He was 75. The funeral home didn't list a cause of death.

Dlesk's donation enabled the construction of WVU's soccer stadium in 2004 in Morgantown.

The Wheeling resident had served as board chairman of First West Virginia Bancorp and president and CEO of Progressive Bank, both in Wheeling.

The funeral home says it will conduct services for Dlesk at 11 a.m. Monday.
