Neighbor shoots suspect in Logan home invasion
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A neighbor shot and wounded a man who was trying to break into a house in Logan County on Saturday.
West Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous said Justin Allen Blair, 28, of Lyburn, and Jimmy Walker, 35, of Man, allegedly kicked in the door of a home on Harmony Lane in Christian.
Baylous said a family member and neighbor, Billy Hall, allegedly caught the men trying to break in and shot Walker with a handgun. Hall then held both men until Trooper J.G. Honaker of the Logan State Police detachment arrived.
Baylous said Honaker handcuffed Blair and put him in his police cruiser, then went back inside to check on Walker. While he was gone, Blair allegedly kicked out the window of the car and escaped.
Blair was found hiding at a house nearby and was arrested. Walker was taken to the hospital for treatment.
