W.Va. residents warned of email charity scam
BELINGTON, W.Va. -- The Belington Police Department is warning residents of an email scam after the agency's account was hacked.
Sgt. J.L. Hymes told The Exponent Telegram that at least 500 emails have been sent seeking money for a child in the Ukraine. The emails used hacked information from the Police Department's account.
Hymes said residents can call the department at 304-823-1613 to verify any police contact.
