State Police launch mobile application
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State Police is launching a mobile application designed to enhance communication between the agency and the public.
Officials say the free application is available for both iPhone and Android devices.
It allows users to access the West Virginia State Police social media pages, the Sex Offender Registry, and detachment information, as well as other features.
The agency also will be able to send out blast messages related to amber/silver alerts and major criminal incidents.
Col. Jay Smithers reminds those using the application to pull off the side of the road when driving or have a passenger access it instead.
