Three students to have hand in picking WVU president

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Three students will help in the search for a new president of West Virginia University.

The three include a student from the School of Medicine, an elementary education student and this year's Mr. Mountaineer, Paul Garton.

The selections were made by the Student Government Association's board of governors, The Dominion Post reported.

The choices will need approval by the university's Board of Governors, which is scheduled to meet on Jan. 6.

WVU is seeking a successor to Jim Clements, who left Morgantown for Clemson University. E. Gordon Gee, former president of WVU, Ohio State and other colleges, has been named interim president.
