PalliativeCare Center to offer workshops/coffee breaks for caregivers
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The PalliativeCare Center is offering a free six-week workshop that will offer caregiving tips and address financial issues, grief and loss, advance directives, as well as palliative care and hospice resources. The workshop with be at 3 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30 and Feb. 6 at the Hansford Center, 500 Washington St., in St. Albans.
The PalliativeCare Center is also offering monthly Caregiver Coffee Breaks around the state to help support caregivers and family members managing a loved one with a serious illness. The coffee breaks are more of a support group for any and all caregivers but the program includes caregiving tips, self-care and emotional support.
Caregiver coffee breaks will be held at the following locations:
Belle Church of Christ, 111 Kanawha St., Belle: 9 to 10 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month.
Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, 5320 Frontier Drive, Cross Lanes: 9 to 10 a.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month.
Mason County Action Group, 101 Second St., Point Pleasant: 5 to 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.
The PalliativeCare Center will also host a Faith Leaders Workshop from noon to 2 p.m. on Jan. 24 at HospiceCare's Main Office, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W. The Rev.
