Sobriety checkpoints

 CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- State Police will both be conducting sobriety checkpoints this weekend.

The South Charleston detachment, in conjunction with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department and Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention, will conduct a checkpoint beginning at 7 p.m. Friday through 1 a.m. on Saturday on W.Va. 61, just south of Marmet.

State Police will also conduct a checkpoint from 8 p.m. Saturday through 2 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 60, east of the intersection with W.Va. 10 in Cabell County. An alternative checkpoint site will be Fifth Avenue and 22nd Street in Huntington.
