Trail club hike
Kanawha Trail Club will meet for a hike at Sunday in the Amherst/Plymouth Wildlife Area on Manilla Creek Road. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is about 5 miles on a flat and moderate grade up to a ridge and back. It is recommend that participants wear hiking boots.
The Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will have a presentation by Doug Wood about the Swainson's Warbler at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the South Charleston Library. All interested persons are invited to attend. The Board will meet at 6 p.m.
Mission trip fundraiser
The Haiti Medical Mission Trip organizers will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Charleston Woman's Club, corner of Virginia and Elizabeth streets. Leaders of this trip, now in its 14th year, will be Lora and Dr. Richard D. Hayes. South Charleston First Presbyterian Church is also a sponsor. The dinner will consist of spaghetti with Lora's special homemade spaghetti sauce (with or without meat), salad, bread, dessert and drinks. The cost is $10 per adult and a reduced rate for children. A video of past trips will be shown and music will be provided from the church.
